Their first release in several years, Blue Room represented a return to making music for the Sharod brothers. Close to disbanding, the band took a turn for the better in lockdown when the brothers regrouped and returned to their garage band roots.
My role was to capture this, first through the photography, then through the design.

The boldness and the nostalgia of the black and white. The grit of the grain, the daintiness of the tea set in their hands. Their effortless cool and subtle silliness. They're a band of contrasts and juxtapositions.

The classic Surfin' Birds blue to link to their previous work. The older brother pouring the younger brother tea; a nod to their dynamic through the years and on. They're a family band at heart - even "Blue Room" was named after the band their parents were in during their youth.

Their story in their own words, the connection they build with their audience, always personal, always present, descending into fragments to maintain some of the mystery and mask some of the chaos.
